The second day of the indefinite strike called by GJM On demand of formation of separate state Gorkhaland went peacefully with one incident where  around 7 am morning a Sikkim bound Bolero car (WB 79-3016) was set on fire by unknown people at National Highway 31-A at Birik dara .

The said vehicle was travelling from Siliguri to Rompu . It was not clear how the lit the vehicle but the police registered a case and investigating is on said Kunal Agarwal SP Darjeeling   .

The police and CRPF personnel have been patrolling the areas and Special Striking Force have reached there to nab the miscreants.he informed.

7 people including Ramesh Lama GTA Sabhasad from Takling Peshok constituency were detained today at Tista .

SP Darjeeling Kunal Agarwal and D M Dr. S.Mohan visited kalimpong in the evening and met with Col. Ramesh Allay Deputy chief of GTA.

Meanwhile, normal life continues to be paralyse in Kalimpong on the second day today due to an indefinite bandh demanding separate Gorkhaland state.

All shops, markets remained closed

The body of Mangal singh rajput reached kalimpong today in the evening where at damber chok thousand of people pay tribute to the man who self immolated himself for the cause of Gorkhaland .His last rites will be done tomorrow.
