Kalimpong students shine in HS examination

The results for the higher secondary
examination 2014 was recently announced with a good overall performance
from the students in Kalimpong. Subodh Pradhan, humanities student from
SUMI, secured 84.8% marks and Nabina Chettri from St. Philomena School
scored 389 marks in Science section, while Priyanka Lepcha from Pranami
Girls School scored 370 in the commerce section to become the respective
toppers from Kalimpong.
A total of 308 students from humanities
section had appeared in the examination this year from SUMI, where six
have secured first class marks. In commerce section 59 students have
secured first class marks. Similarly, in St. Philomena School 112
students appeared for the examination from the humanities section, out
of which 35 have secured first class marks, while in the science
section, six out of 25 students secured first class marks. In Kalimpong
Girls’ Senior Secondary School, all 151 humanities students who appeared
have cleared the examination, while in the science section, Sweetie
Kumari secured 73% marks to become the school topper.
Kumdini School had 131 students appeared
in the examination from the humanities section with one student
securing first class marks and 125 have cleared the examination. Arwin
Rai from the science section of the school scored 358 marks to become
the school topper among 31 students, while 54 students out of 68 who
appeared from commerce section cleared the examination. Meanwhile in
Pranami Girls School, 86 students appeared from the humanities section
with Asha Maghi scoring 376 marks to become the school topper. In the
commerce section of the school, 76 students appeared for the examination
with one student securing first class marks.
