Shamar Rinpoche body reaches Kalimpong

Shamar Rinpoche who passed into Mahaparinirvana because of sudden cardiac arrest on June 11th 2014 in Renchen-Ulm, Germany was brought in Kalimpong accompanied by the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa and many entourages around 5:00 pm for the last auspicious sight today.
The Kudung of Shamar Rinpoche was accompanied by His Holiness Karmapa Thaye Dorje . the Kudung of Rinpoche reached Shri Diwakar Vihara Buddhist Research and Educational Institute that Shamar Rinpoche had established. Various Rinpoches and the monks will be conducting Vajrayogini puja for a week which will be followed by the Five Deities Chakrasamvara practice as a form of offering to Kudung of Rinpoche informed the Bihara officials. The days at Kalimpong will also allow all disciples from Bhutan, Sikkim and the district of Darjeeling to pay their respects.

On July 14th His Holiness the 17th Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje will accompany the holy Kudung of Rinpoche for the final journey to Shar Minub Monastery in Katmandu, Nepal. The main seat of Shamar Rinpoche will be the final resting place for his Khudung. A stupa is said to be built to contain and preserve the remains of the 14th Shamarpa.The 14th incarnation of Shamarpa was born in 1952 in Derge, Tibet who was recognised by His HH the 16th Karmapa.
