4 medals for Kalimpong at All India Independence Cup Karate-Do Championship

Kalimpong Students have
bagged 4 medals at the 10th All India Independence Cup Karate-Do
Championship 2014 which was held on 16-17th August 2014 at Talkatora
Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. The Competition was Organized By-Shito -Ryu
Seiko Kai Karate-Do India a body which is approved by-Karate Association
of India and is Recognized By-Govt. of India (Ministry of Youth Affairs
& Sports). A total of 12 students from different schools were led
by Coach Sushan Thapa Chief Coach/ Secretary of Darjeeling Gorkha
Karate-Do Association. Sujata Rai (16) in Kumite(-48Kg ) bagged Silver
medal while Chogyal Bhutia 11 yrs( Kumite) too bagged silver medal.
Abner Biswakarma 17 yr in Junior 16/17 Yrs Kumite (-55Kg) bagged Bronze
Medal while Arohan Bogati 8 yrs( Kumite) too bagged bronze medal.
Around 1200 Students Participated from 25 State including students from
Para Military Forces informed Sushan Thapa who expressed satisfaction
over his team performance.
Sushan Thapa is a (International Medalist in Karate) from Kalimpong
and was recently presented the KAI Accredited Coach for National
Coaching
