A early morning accident at NH 31 A claim one life and left one missing. A Sikkim Bound cement loaded truck(WB 73-3559) today skidded off the road and plunged into river Tista at Geilkhola this morning around 4.am.The area falls under the jurisdiction of Tista OP under Kalimpong Police station . The truck was going towards Singtam .Only the wood portion of the vehicle was above the water in the morning when the rescue work started later in the day. The truck was pulled with the help of a crane which lifted in above water . The dead body of the Driver Sunny Rasaily(24) of PaKyong Sikkim was recorvered from the Truck by Rfting rescue group bu  the helper Abhijeet Chettri(16) could not be traced. The Body was later sent to Kalimpong hospital for Post Martem.
