Established in 1964 Central School for Tibetan (CST) Kalimpong today observed the Golden Jubilee of its establishment. A three days program has started today in grand manner. Dr Lopsang Sangay Sikyong of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile was present as the Chief Guest while Nodup Tsering the Education Minister of CTA was present as special guest. After lightening of Lamp and Hoisting of Flag band display and March past program was performed by the student.

 A 1 min silence was observed in the name of Late Principal of school K.T.Bhutia.A special Video message of HH the 17TH Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorjee was telecast. Welcome Speech and Principal report was laid by K.P.Singh the principal of the school. 

The day program witness Presentation of Souvenir by The chief guest  to the Ex principals, teachers, staff and alumina member along with a colorful cultural program by the student. A Golden Jubliee hall was also inaugurated by the Chief guest. A interaction program between the present and ex student with the Chief guest too took place. A Addressing the massive gathering Dr Sangay thanked the Indian government for its relentless help to uplift the Tibetan society . He give a message to the Student to focus on Education . A documentary containing the 50 yr of school was shown today while the evening was mark with cultural extravaganza . Dr Harka Bahadur Chettri MLA Kalimpong, Kazim Tshering Bhutia Sabhasad of GTA along with many ex student from different part of the world were present in large number today.

A Fashion show in presence of Tenzin Dolma La Miss Tibet 2007 and Musical Show by Thupden Bhutia and Parakeet,s Melody Band Darjeeling will be performed on Thursday.
