Girl rescued by Bal Surakha Abhiyan



Kalimpong January 9, 2015:

A girl aged 16 from Ringkinpong road was rescued from 8th mile area by Bal Suraksha Abhiyan yesterday around 4 pm who was found wandering alone.
When people observed her frustration along with her back and forth movement she was inquired by few people where she replied that she was from some other place looking for a job, suspecting it as an underhanded problem they reported B.S.A who later inquired her whereabouts.
‘She was very terrified, frustrated and nervous, she dint speak anything in the beginning’ informed the child release officer of BSA, adding to that he said, ‘later the girl fearfully revealed the vice of domestic violence she has encountered to a female staff’
It was known that her step mother persecuted her everyday and her father overlooked the tormenting troubles she faced. However Bal Suraksha Abhiyan- an NGO here filed a complaint against her parents who found out that the step-mother was booked in a similar case before.
The girl is now under the custody of BSA by order of Darjeeling Child welfare committee till further order.
The parents has been booked under section 23 of JJ Act 2000.
