Kirati Khambu Rai Cultural Association in association with Khambu Rights
Movement today celebrated the Yeledong New Year 5075.A rally was
organised on the occasion of the New Year today which started form Mela
Ground saw massive participation of Rai community dressed in their
traditional attire. The rally pressed the demand of inclusion of this
tribe from OBC to a tribal status under the art 355(25) and art 342 of
the Indian constitution. A day long cultural program was then organised
at Mela Ground where The main attraction was Remanti Rai singer from
Sikkim who was present as the Guest Artist. A calender and Cd by KRM was
today released on the day. Where as Remanti Rai today released the
album Senterum which has already rocked the Market in this parts of the
hills and Sikkim. DR.Samuel Rai Director of Cinchona Plantation was
present as the Chief Guest.
The organisation too send a
memorandum to Governor Keshari Nath Tripati explaining the demand and
appealing for inclusion of Kirati khambu Rai in the list of Scheduled
Tribe of India informed Binita Rai General Secretary of The Central
committee of Khambu Organistion.
Meanwhile Remanti Rai
today expressed happiness that she was present in the program of her own
family. She said that she was happy to meet today many local artist
whose album song she sanged and listen.Her performance enthralls the
audience during the day.
