A Sikkim bound Maruti Alto car bearing number SK 04 PA 3516 Fell about 500 ft below the road in National Highway 31A at Bhalukhola under the Malli police post jurisdiction. The incident happened this afternoon at one when the vehicle was coming from Jorethang and was heading to Rompu  .The vehicle had two passenger and a driver in it in which one passenger Padam Bhandari (42) of Mamring Sikkim died on the spot while Kamal Pradhan of same place received head injury and is said to be very critical . Meanwhile Subash Darjee 31 , The driver of the vehicle from Turung have suffered fractured in the arms and some bruises around the body. Soon after the accident the local working in the river bed rushed to the rescue along with the vehicle driver who saw the accident. Padam  died on the spot while Kamal was rushed to Kalimpong Sub Division Hospital. The driver was first taken to Sikkim Malli PHC but later was bought to Kalimpong SD Hospital for further treatment. Kamal who received serious head injury was refer later to Siliguri. The Driver told that while passing the narrow road at bhalukhola many trucks from the opposite direction came passing by i put my brakes but don't know how i fell down he told in hospital. Meanwhile the body of the deceased was sent to Kalimpong Hospital for Post Mortem.
