A 22 year Kalimpong lad has been martyr in Turtuk Sector in Ladakh

Rescuers on Saturday found the body of Rifleman Sunil Rai who was buried in an avalanche in Ladakh yesterday'

The body of Lance Havildar Bhawan Tamang was rescued yesterday from inside the snow but died later.

A massive search operation was on to search the missing Sepoy who has been identified as Sepoy Sunil Rai

Rai a 22 year old hails from Lower Santook , Algarah Block about 15 kms from Kalimpong.

The news of death has bought great tragedy to the family of Rai who  is survived by his parents and two younger brothers.

Having studied his Madhayamik from Kumidini Homes he was band master of the famous school band. He studied his higher secondary exam from Algarah and studied Kalimpong college 2nd yr before joining 2/11GR on December 8th 2013 said a family source

Samir Rai brother of Rifleman Sunil Rai informed that the news of his body recovery came over phone today. We cant express anything.
