Kalimpong subdivision block three Gorubathan is waiting for the construction of a new motor stand. At 2013 in the month of July GTA Chief laid the foundation of new vehicle stand at Gorubathan but the constructiin has not been started. The Gorubathan Chalak Mahasangh has been spearing the demand from last 8 years. They have submitted memorandum to GTA Chief Bimal Gurung after which the work of foundation laying was done which bought smile in the faces of locals but the construction work remain a dream till now. Now even the Locals have started demanding the same. Binod Tamang secretary of Mahasangh told the main market here is known as Somvare where a weekly village market (haat) is organized here every Monday (Sombar).The business community from Odlabari, Siliguri, Binnaguri along with parts of Kalimpong comes for marketing. The product is bought in transportation vehicle and buses but there is no stand for buses to rest. He said the foundation laying made us very happy but the work has not been started yet. The lack of motor stand every week disturbs the daily routine of Student due to Jam. The Army and GREF vehicle which used the road to gets stuck in the Jam he informed. One local Ramji Prasad who has a shop in Somvare Bazar said we want a motor stand so that the traffic gets controlled. He said we fully support the demand. We appeal our higher authority to soon construct the motor stand.
