The West Bengal Government has sanctioned the 11^th Development Board for Darjeeling Hills after Official Notification of establishment of The West Bengal Newar Development and Cultural Board” is out. The Board Head Office will be in Kalimpong, under the administrative control of the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal.

 ‘The West Bengal Newar Development and Cultural Board’ shall be registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961 (West Ben. Act XXVI of 1961).

Newar Yuwa Sangathan , Central Committee who has been spreading the movement the board movement from December 2015 have expressed its happiness that the board office will be at Kalimpong. Bimal Pradhan , president of  Central Committee of Newar Yuwa Sangathan addressing a press meet showed the notification which was issued on 19^th October. Signed by Principal Secretary to the Government of West Bengal the Sangathan have thanked the CM Mamata Banerjee who in almost in a month time of Declaring the Formation at a program on 22nd and 23^rd  September at Mela ground and homes ground have officially formed the Board along with BCDW Department .

He said it is because of the exercise and hard work of the Sangathan that Dipawali Gift came to us.Pradhan , said we have send names of 29 board members to the Government. The members are included from Kalimpong , Darjeeling , Kurseong , Mirik, Gorubathan, Duars area . We have taken all in the list.  

Meanwhile Ravi Pradhan, secretary of the Sangathan told “ the board will help preserve the rich Newari Culture and Tradition along with the upliftment of the down trodden Newar.
