About 70 Jan Andolan Party youths and women members who were today sitting in a dharna in front of Darjeeling MP SS Ahluwalia’s residence were detained by Delhi Police.
JAP party members with Placards in hand and shouting “we want Gorkhaland” slogans were taken to nearby Avenue Road Police Station, said Sandip Kulung, youth spokesperson.

Later when the news of the detained reached Darjeeling MP, he called JAP youth leaders to Parliament after the session after which, under the leadership, five JAP youth went to the Parliament and met the MP at this office inside.

Kulung said, “We had a meeting of 45 minutes where we submitted a memorandum to the MP.” We have asked him 5 major question, he said What major steps have been taken by the BJP to sympathetically examine and appropriately consider the demand for a separate state comprising Darjeeling district and some parts of Doors promised in BJP election Manifesto.

The JAP party has also asked about the MP view on the Draft bill of Gorkhaland submitted to him .
