Kalimpong girl wins bronze in National school games

Ajanta Mukhiya a student of Saint
Josephs convent has won a bronze medal at recently concluded 62nd
National School games. Ajanta Mukhiya and Alok Thapa both players from Sushans
karate do academy was in the 24 member squad of Bengal team which was lead by
Subash Mitra. The School games was held at Indore Madhya Pradesh from 24th
to 28th December.The games
was organized by School Games Federation of India. Mukhiya fought above + 50 kg
under 14 year category. She lost to a Haryana Player in the semi final and
clinched the bronze medal. Both player reached Kalimpong today.

Mukhiya informed , Bengal bagged one gold , one silver and 7 bronze in the
Karate event out of Ajanta was able to win one bronze medal. He said this year
we have to satisfy with bronze but for 63rd National games we will
started our preparation soon to achieve gold medal.
Meanwhile Ajanta Mukhiya student
of class 8 of St Josephs Convent said: “ I am happy with my performance , it
was a great experience to play in the national event and to win a medal there”.
