Khilan Pradhan and Naren Bhujel withdraws nomination, decides to support Samuel Gurung
MUKESH SHARMA
Kalimpong,
July 09:
Though
Khilan Pradhan as independent and Naren Bhujel from Rashtriya Adhikar Suraksha
had taken the nomination forms for the upcoming elections, they have not yet
submitted it. Bhujel, today explaining his withdrawal said that he had planned
to file the nomination due to discontentment from his household. But after
seeing that Samuel Gurung is a dedicated and sincere leader, he has decided to
withdraw the nominations and instead support Gurung wholeheartedly. It may be
noted that Samuel Gurung has filed nomination from Samsing- Kumai under 44 No
Constituency.
Whereas,
in the other hand, independent candidate, Khilan Pradhan firstly complained
that there is no developmental changes at Samsing- Kumai and it has been the
same since the past 21 years. No progressive work has been done here, he added.
But after meeting Samuel Gurung has gave a second thought about the nominations
and finally decided that he too, will be working along with Gurung towards
developing the area. Hence, Pradhan also decided not to file the nominations.
Both
Pradhan and Bhujel today declared their support towards Gurung amidst their
supporters and Gurung himself, at the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM), Kalimpong
Party office.
Later,
Gurung addressing the gathering said that there are many issues from the grass
root level, and he will be trying his best to solve all the issues. Likewise,
he alleged that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidates have filed the
nominations in order to disrupt the political atmosphere. The TMC is very well
aware that the public is in favour of the GJM, he added. Lastly, speaking on
the candidate not being from the said area, Gurung mentioned that he had decided
to prepare a system by which the public can meet their representatives at their
respective areas.
