Rs 5 lacs and job to Lt police officer’s family

The
Darjeeling SP Kunal Agarwal today said that Late Shiv Sagar Chettri was one of
the honest and finest police officer. Talking to reporters after paying tribute
to the officer at Mela ground, he informed that the family members of the
deceased will get compensation of Rs 5 lacs and a job to one.
Agarwal
also said that they had earlier talks with the GREF on the construction of
protective wall from Teesta to Rambi but things could not work out. On the
other hand, the NHPC when requested has given positive assurances that they
will be constructing the protective wall along the NH31A.
The
NHPC officials when contacted on the same said that for the safety of the
public and on the request of the police department they are keen to do so.
After a written notice from the police Department, they shall kick-start the
construction work, they added.
