Tender rate for Bypass too high- Sundas

The tender rate for the
construction of the Bypass has become another topic to voice about
for the CPM leader, Tara Sundas much lately. “The tender value issued by the
PWD is a way to take out commission for themselves”, alleged Sundas and
reiterated that the Department is not letting the local contractors to earn
their living.
Showing the 2nd
tender issued by the PWD, Jalpaiguri Sundas said that the tender for the 40
lakh renovation work of the road connecting Jalpesh and Legdabapa was issued in
3 phases. But the tender notice for the Bypass construction work amounting up
to15 crore 64 lakhs 17 thousand 2 hundred and 81 has been issued just once.
Further, he said that
before the construction is initiated the area is under landslide, the walls are
sunk and works worth 15 crore will be limited to the files and copies. It won’t
be done structurally, he added.
Sundas claimed that if
his opinion about the individuals who take commission is wrong, then the
Departmental officials can file a defamation case against him. He also claimed
that he has the list of names along with their pictures who are misusing the
funds of the Government. Lastly, the CPM leader urged all the unemployed, youths
and contractors to come forward for the said issue.
