Political mercury has once again heated up in the Hills after the Union Home Minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde hinted on the formation of Telengana within a month.

The Communist Party of Revolutionary Marxists (CPRM) Youth Wing, General Secretary, Arun Ghatani today said that Gorkhaland agitation will be questioned, if Telengana is granted by the Centre.

Mentioning that the Gorkhas are demanding Gorkhaland since 106 years, Ghatani said that the Gorkhas are homeless in their own home and has been tagged as foreigners time and again. Thus, Gorkhaland is the only means that can provide the requisite solution to the issues of the Gorkhas, he added.

“Important agitation for a separate state ended in the middle. When it was about to reach its goal it ended in the name of the development in the Hills”, said Ghatani and added that the party strongly objects the policies of the Centre who has been always trying to minor the cause of the Gorkhas.

Labeling the leaders of the Hills as ‘so called’ Gorkhaland loving leaders, the General Secretary appealed them to keep aside Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) and instead fight for Gorkhaland.

“If Telengana is formed, Gorkhaland should also be formed”, he insisted.

The CPRM also conducted postering at Kalimpong today questioning the government and the ruling party about Gorkhaland. They have also sought for people’s support in attaining a separate state.
