'Janata Curfew' massive success in kalimpong

The scene in kalimpong wore a
deserted look with the beginning of 'Janata Curfew' today as masses preferred to remain indoors
responding to Gorkha Janmukti Morcha's call to defy West
Bengal government's Saturday's 72-hour ultimatum to restore
normalcy.
Everything was shut, streets and market places in the hill town wore a deserted look since early this morning due to the janata curfew (people policing the streets). People have been staying inside their houses in protest of the statement and demanding separate Gorkhaland state.
Police personal, press reporter and dogs cat and goat were seen in the market.
Vehicular movement in NH 31 A was not affected by the curfew as it was normal

Tamang a gjm youth cadre was arrested bu gorubathan police in a
connection with a political case of setting fire to K.N.Subba TMC leader
this year .His bail plea was rejected by the court and has been sent to judicial remand today by kalimpong court.
