Couple loses money to dubious job Ad

Pradhan, inhabitants of Dr Grahams Homes were victimized in fraudulency with
the assistance of the advertisement published in Himalaya Darpan (Kalimpong
darpan) on 22nd august 2014 for the vacancy of Krishi Call Centre. With
the researched information provided by the victims, the company was hiring candidate’
from the hills to be based in Darjeeling and Sikkim and assured a placement in Krishi
call centre. The provided telephone number in the advertisement belonged to a
women named Rita Tamang who handled the calls. “It was written that the company
gives a mobile phone and a laptop to the hired candidates along with a pick and
drop cab facility, we therefore tried contacting Rita Tamang who asked us to
deposit a registration fee of 750 rupees each” Said Ashap Lama. When the couple
enquired about the laptop and a cell phone they were asked to deposit the
amount of 13,900 each. “We received the offer letter after paying the registration
fee, we were further asked to pay a security deposit of 13,900 each and after
24 hours of the deposit a laptop and a mobile phone was to be dispatched” he
added. Lama also said that the advertisement looked very authentic and the
documents they received from the company after paying the demanded amount contained
the emblem of Ashoka with the stamp of Agricultural Department of India. The couple
deposited a sum of 27,800 rupees under the name of Vivek Kumar on 3rd
of September and received a mobile sms from the concerned people stating that
the amount was received. After the transaction process the provided numbers are
switched off. Disappointed Lama filed a complaint for the fraudulent activity committed
in the name of Government of India.
