At a time when the hills was remembering Fredom Fighter Subash Chandra Bose in grand manner  but coincidentally today is also the birthday of Damber Singh Gurung A Gorkha in the Constituent Assembly. No event was organised anywhere in hills by the concerned Gorkha body or administration.

Damber Singh Gurung  was a politician, lawyer and social worker of the Indian Gorkha community. He founded the Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League, a political party, in 1943. D.S Gurung represented the Indian Gorkha community in the Constituent Assembly of India till his death in 1948, after which Ari Bahadur Gurung took his place.

It is in his name that Kalimpong's famous Damber Chowk has been named and DS Gurung Road has been named but No Social or political organsitaion took out a time to put even a Flower or Khada at the statue of the Great Gorkha Leader on the occasion of his 113rd Birth Celebration.

Sadly even the party he founded - Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League forgot to celebrate his birthday.

One of the Social media who too share the news got only like but no comment.
