Kalimpong January 7, 2015:

A chaotic death of a driver named Gyalbo Sherpa (26) from Mangbol busty; under Kalimpong Khasmahal (block 1) alarmed the town with hoaxes and assumptions today.

Sherpa was found hanging on a tree in front of Cluny women’s college gate around 7:00 am today, he was wounded and had some blood clots on his face. According to the source he used to drive a taxi car (Bolero WB 76 6807) and was a member of Kalimpong driver association.

It was also known that yesterday Sherpa dropped few tourists form hotel Silver Oaks to Sikkim and while returning he met with a severe accident next to Novelty Cinema hall where handful of people assisted to lift the vehicle. And in a lapse of few hours he was found hanging.

But, situation took a complicated twist this morning, no one in the adjacent areas of the cinema hall approved to have seen the incident when the law enforcers examined the surroundings.

 The members of Kalimpong Driver Association (KDA) anticipating it as a chaotic death with a ratio of 70-30 (70% suicide and 30% murder) submitted a memorandum to the Kalimpong police appealing them to investigate the case thoroughly, ‘if no initiative is taken from the police department within 48 hours, we will be compelled to take a strong step against the administration’ said the president of KDA, Mahindra Gurung.

However police are investigating the case and are waiting for a postmortem report to sketch a judgment and clarify between a murder and a suicide.
